Franciscan Center for Social Concern at Bona's

Silver Wolves

Silver Wolves is a club through the Franciscan Center for Social Concern where we make weekly visits to Eden Heights, a local nursing home. Silver Wolves allows students to get off campus and create real bonds with elderly members in the local community.

At St. Bonaventure, we see the importance of spending time with different generations in order to learn from them. We follow the quote of Pope Francis as he says, "a population that does not take care of the elderly and of children and the young has no future, because it abuses both its memory and its promise.” Through Silver Wolves we seek to care for these individuals to ensure they are never forgotten.

During our weekly visits we play card games and trivia, and make seasonal crafts. Alongside all of our activities, we create bonds with the residents and have amazing conversations. Silver Wolves is a bright spot in the lives of both the students and the Eden Heights residents.
