Eamonn Matthews' Rugby Page

Thank you for supporting me and St. Bonaventure Rugby!
What has Rugby given me?
Rugby has given me opportunities I will cherish for a lifetime. From traveling to England and Scotland while in high school, to forging friendships that will last me a lifetime, to helping me get internships for life after college. Rugby has also provided me with discipline, and a confidence that no matter what happens in life I will always have a group of guys behind me that will pick me up when I'm down.
What does it mean to be a part of this family?
Being a part of the Bonaventure rugby family means being a part of something greater than myself. When we put on those jerseys on game day we aren't just putting on a number. We are putting on a legacy that was formed by hundreds of former Bonaventure rugby players who made sacrifices and gave their all in order for us to be where we are today. I love being a part of something greater because it gives me a sense of purpose. There is a common saying in rugby that goes "leave the jersey in a better place than it was given to you.," and that is exactly what I want to do for St. Bonaventure Rugby. I want to leave this program in a better situation than how I entered it because that's what being a part of a family is all about. Making it better.
